Taiwan Consumer Sentiment Highest in 3 Months
Consumer confidence in Taiwan edged down to a three-month low of 80.37 in November 2019 from from 80.97 points in the previous month, amid declines in both of employment opportunities (down 8.35 points from the previous month to 79.25) and the timing of investment stocks (down 7.1 points to 54.5). In contrast, consumers' views time were more favorable for buying durable goods (up 3.65 points to 109.05). Also, there were rises in domestic prices level in the next six months (up 3.25 points to 56), economic situation outlook (up 2.65 points to 89.95), and households family conditions in the next six months (up 2.3 points to 93.45).

Taiwan Consumer Sentiment Falls to 3-Month Low in August
Consumer confidence in Taiwan dropped to a three-month low of 79.74 in August 2019 from 81.48 in the previous month. Household's sentiment deteriorated toward all components, including: employment opportunities (down 3.6 points from a month earlier to 94), domestic product prices in the next six months (down 2.35 points to 51), the timing of investment in stocks market (down by 2.2 points to 65.2), financial conditions in the next six months (down 0.8 points to 90.35), domestic economic climate for the next six months (down 0.65 points to 86.25) and the timing to buy durable goods (down 0.8 points to 91.65).

Taiwan Consumer Sentiment Highest in 3 Months
Consumer confidence in Taiwan rose to a three-month high of 81.48 in July 2019 from 79.80 in the previous month. Households' confidence over the timing of investment in stocks market surged (up by 8.8 points from a month earlier to 67.4) and their assessment over domestic product prices in the next six months strengthened (up 3.7 points to 53.35). In addition, consumers' views on both financial conditions in the next six months (up 0.55 points to 91.15) and those on domestic economic climate for the next six months (up 0.45 points to 86.90) increased. Also, households found time a bit more favorable to buy durable goods (up 0.2 points to 92.45). Meanwhile, sentiment toward domestic employment opportunities weakened markedly (down 3.65 points to 97.6).

Consumer confidence in Taiwan increased to 79.80 in June 2019 from a 22 month-low of 79.48 in the previous month. Households' views on domestic economic climate for the next six months (up 1.15 points from a month earlier to 86.45) and their assessment over domestic product prices in the next six months (up 1.10 points to 49.65) strengthened. In addition, consumers' views on financial conditions in the next six months (up 0.85 points to 90.60) and their sentiment toward domestic employment opportunities improved (up 0.25 points to 101.25). Also, households found time more favorable to buy durable goods (up 0.55 points to 92.25). Meantime, confidence over the timing of investment in stocks market deteriorated (down by 2.0 points to 58.6).

Taiwan Consumer Sentiment Falls to Near 2-Year Low
Consumer confidence in Taiwan fell to 79.48 in May 2019 from 85.33 in the previous month. It was the lowest reading since July 2017, as sentiment deteriorated regarding the timing of investment in stocks market (down by 35.8 points from a month earlier to 60.6); domestic employment opportunities (down 0.4 points to 101) and timing to buy durable goods (down 0.4 points to 91.7). In additions, households' views on financial conditions in the next six months softened (down 0.2 points to 89.80). Meanwhile, sentiment over the domestic economic conditions were stable (at 85.30, the same as in April), while those over domestic product prices in the next six months improved (up 0.4 points to 48.60).

Taiwan Consumer Sentiment Rises to 11-Month High in April
Consumer confidence in Taiwan increased to 85.33 in April 2019 from 84.36 in the previous month and reaching the highest reading since May last year. Sentiment strengthened for most components: the timing of investment in stocks market (up 1.60 points from the prior month to 96.40); the domestic product prices in the next six months (up 1.45 points to 48.20); the domestic economic conditions (up 1.30 points to 85.30); the timing to buy durable goods (up 1.10 points to 92.10); and the households' views on financial conditions in the next six months (up 1.05 points to 90.00). Meanwhile, confidence toward the domestic employment opportunities softened (down 0.65 points to 100.00).
